Our Southern Route Tour is our most complete and adventurous expedition — designed for those who want to experience the Amazon and the Pantanal in a single, continuous journey across some of the wildest regions of South America.

Over twenty days, you will travel through remote river systems, dense rainforest, and vast wetlands, following a carefully designed route that connects the Amazon basin with the northern Pantanal.

This is not just a tour, but a true expedition — where the journey itself becomes part of the experience.

The first part of the adventure takes place deep in the Amazon, along the remote river Javari, in the triple border region of Leticia and Tabatinga, where you will travel by boat and stay in isolated jungle lodges.

Here, the focus is on immersion: navigating rivers, exploring flooded forests, and observing wildlife in one of the most complex ecosystems on Earth.

As the journey continues, you will pass through Leticia and Puerto Nariño, experiencing local communities and a slower rhythm of life connected to the river.

The expedition then transitions towards Manaus and the surrounding rainforest, including the waterfalls and forest landscapes of Presidente Figueiredo — adding a new dimension to the experience.

In the final part of the journey, you will travel south into the northern Pantanal, where the environment opens into vast wetlands. Here, the experience shifts once again, combining land and river safaris along the Transpantaneira and into Porto Jofre, one of the best places in the world to observe jaguars in the wild.

This itinerary is designed for travelers seeking depth, diversity, and a true sense of exploration — moving through dramatically different ecosystems while maintaining a coherent and immersive experience throughout.

You will be accompanied at each stage by experienced local guides, ensuring a seamless journey across regions, cultures, and environments.

This tour can also be done in reverse.

Activities focus on wildlife observation, guided jungle walks, and experiencing the complexity of the Amazon ecosystem. Encounters may include monkeys, birds, river dolphins, and a wide range of plant life, all within an environment that feels truly untouched.

These are slow, immersive days shaped by the natural rhythm of the forest and river.

Days 6 to 7 - Transition to Leticia and
                                 Puerto Nariño

Here, you will experience a different perspective of the Amazon, where local communities and culture become part of the journey.

Days 8 to 9 - Life Along the Amazon River

Days 10 to 12 - Manaus and
                                      Presidente Figueiredo

You will travel to Manaus, the gateway to the Brazilian Amazon, before continuing to Presidente Figueiredo, a region known for its waterfalls, caves, and forest trails.

Over these days, you will explore a different side of the rainforest — walking through jungle paths, visiting waterfalls, and discovering unique geological formations.

Days 13 to 14 - Return to Manaus and                                                   Transition South

After time in Presidente Figueiredo, you will return to Manaus to prepare for the next stage of the journey.

This transition marks the shift from rainforest to wetlands, as you prepare to travel towards the Pantanal.

Days 15 to 16 - Arrival in the Northern Pantanal

You will arrive in the northern Pantanal and stay in one of our selected lodges along the Transpantaneira, such as Pouso Alegre.

Here, the landscape opens dramatically, and activities focus on land safaris by truck, offering excellent opportunities to observe mammals, reptiles, and birdlife.

Night safaris add another layer to the experience, revealing the Pantanal after dark.

Day 17 - Journey to Porto Jofre

Travel deeper into the Pantanal towards Porto Jofre, where the environment transitions once again — from land to water.

An afternoon boat safari introduces you to the river systems where wildlife gathers along the banks.

Days 18, 19 - Jaguar Territory

Two full days dedicated to exploring the rivers of Porto Jofre.

These are the most intense wildlife days of the Pantanal portion, with high chances of observing jaguars, along with giant otters, capybaras, caimans, and a rich diversity of birdlife.

Time on the water allows for patient observation and meaningful encounters.
