Our Jaguar Tour is crafted for those who truly want to immerse themselves in the presence of these extraordinary big cats — not just to glimpse them, but to spend meaningful, unhurried time observing their natural behavior in the wild.

You will spend four full days in Porto Jofre, often referred to as “Jaguarland,” a remote outpost at the edge of the northern Pantanal and widely considered the best place on Earth to observe jaguars in their natural habitat.

This unique region, where the dense wetlands meet winding river systems, offers unparalleled access to one of the highest concentrations of jaguars anywhere in the world.

Each day is spent navigating the rivers by boat, quietly searching the banks where jaguars roam, hunt, rest, and interact.

Thanks to the exceptional density of jaguars in this area and the open landscape that makes sightings possible, there is an extraordinary 99% probability of seeing jaguars daily. It’s not uncommon to witness multiple individuals in a single day — from mothers with cubs to powerful males patrolling their territory — offering photographers and wildlife enthusiasts rare opportunities for observation and storytelling.

You will be paired with one of our experienced guides, either in English, Spanish, Italian or Portuguese, which will make your experience a whole.

Itinerary

Day 1 - Arrival in the Pantanal

Your journey into one of the wildest places on Earth begins today.

After arriving in Cuiabá you will meet with your guide and you’ll set out on a scenic drive where the landscape gradually transforms into a vast mosaic of wetlands, rivers, and open savannas teeming with life.

We will drive long the Transpantaneira road — a corridor where every bridge (125!) offers the chance for your first wildlife encounters.

Keep your camera ready as capybaras graze along the roadside, caimans bask in the sun, and a dazzling variety of birds fills the air.

By late afternoon, you’ll arrive at your lodge.

After settling in, there’s time to unwind and take in the Pantanal's unbeatable atmosphere.

As night fall, dinner is served, and your guides will introduce you to the days ahead, setting the tone for the extraordinary jaguar encounters to come.

Days 2 to 4 - In the Realm of Jaguars

These are the days you’ve come for.

At first light we’ll set out on the river — entering the heart of jaguar territory.

From dawn until late afternoon, your days are spent navigating a maze of waterways by boat, where every bend holds the promise of a sighting.

This is one of the very few places on Earth where jaguars can be observed in the wild with remarkable consistency. You may witness them resting on the riverbanks, moving silently through the vegetation, or even hunting along the water’s edge.

But the experience goes far beyond jaguars. Giant otters glide through the water in playful family groups, caimans line the shores, and the sky is alive with macaws, herons, kingfishers, and countless other bird species. The Pantanal reveals itself slowly, generously, to those who spend time within it.

A packed lunch is enjoyed out on the river, allowing you to stay immersed in the wild without interruption.

As the golden light softens toward evening, you’ll return to the lodge. After some time to relax, dinner is served.

Day 5 - Farewell to Jaguarland

Your final day begins early, with breakfast at 5:30 am and a last look at the wild surroundings that have defined the past days. As you check out of your rooms, there’s a quiet sense of anticipation — one more chance to be out on the river.

From 7:00 to 11:00 am, you’ll head out for your final boat safari. These last hours in jaguar territory often feel the most special — unhurried, reflective, and full of possibility. Whether it’s one last glimpse of a jaguar on the riverbank, the call of macaws overhead, or the gentle movement of the water, it’s a moment to fully take in the essence of the Pantanal.

Back at the lodge, lunch is served before you begin your journey out of Porto Jofre at 12:40 pm. The return drive offers a final passage through the Transpantaneira, with its ever-present wildlife and vast open landscapes — a closing chapter to your time in this extraordinary ecosystem.

You’ll arrive in Cuiabá around 6:00 pm, carrying with you not just photographs, but the memory of days spent deeply connected to one of the richest wildlife regions on Earth.
